ENGINE
Fly-by-wire Auto Calibration Procedure:
A. With car on, hold full throttle and cycle master switch.
B. After 15 seconds at full throttle, release pedal and wait for ECU to restart
Basic Operation Notes for Mazda 2.0 liter
Recommendations:
- Fluids: 91-92 octane gasoline
- 10-30 Red Line Synthetic engine oil
- Coolant should have a rust inhibitor mix, i.e. Red Line Water Wetter
Before going on track
The engine should be warmed up before running on track. The water should be circulated by letting the engine idle. Water temperature should reach at least 185 deg F.
Coolant pressure cap should be an 18-20 psi cap.
During Operation

Water temperature should be maintained at 185-205 deg F. Running it below 180 deg will affect the performance of the engine.

Oil temperature should be maintained at 200-225 deg F. Care should be taken below 135 deg; cavitation can result in rod bearing failure.

Oil pressure should be minimum 55 psi above 6000 rpm.

Maximum rpm is 7200.
